It is hot as hell here. There is no way around it. You step outside for a few short minutes and next thing you know, you are sweating in places that no one likes to sweat. Nothing short of nasty.
Being from the south, you would think that I was used to the heat. While, I have never been a big fan of hot weather (cold weather either for that matter), the heat in the city is different. I feel that in the south you have open areas, grass, etc. to absorb the heat. You also are consistently going from one air conditioned place to another via an air conditioned vehicle. In the city, the heat simply reflects and bounces off the metal and concrete creating a sauna like black cocks
I realize that if the worst thing that happens to me today is that I get a little sweaty, things are pretty good. At the same time, I realize that things would be even better if I could go about my business minus the sweat. Some people are never happy.
So, on the whole, things are going well. Still random fears wake me in the night...cord problems, placenta failure, pre-term labour (Point of Viability isn't until 28 weeks for us), stillbirth, etc, but Sheila Kitzinger says this is all completely normal. I'm processing the bad so I know how to handle the good, or G-d forbid, cope in the event of an emergerncy. And, for those scrolling back up to see if I revealed the sex, fear not...You didn't miss anything. Our little one is very much a girl. (And no, I don't care if your sister's doctor's lawyer's holistic healer was told it was a girl and then it was a BOY and they were shattered because we truly don't care what sex this little one is. We only found out to tell the family so they'd stop with the calling. But yes, we have purchased some lovely pink things.) We have names picked out for both a girl and a boy and we're really pleased with them. As of today, only 4 months to go. It's surreal. It's amazing. And it feels magical.
